TERMS & CONDITIONS

CAPACITY

canapé events can hold up to 200 guests.

DURATION

All functions at Cook at Kurnell have a duration of 4 or 5 hours from 5pm.

DEPOSIT, PAYMENT TERMS + AGREEMENT FORM

To confirm your booking we require an initial 20% security deposit (credited towards the final account) and a signed + completed copy of the Security + Agreement Form. This is required within 7 days of making your booking.

Cook at Kurnell holds the right to cancel any bookings not held with a security deposit and completed Security + Agreement Form.

50% of the minimum spend is due 60 days before your event. Full payment for your event is due 14 days prior to the event date, no later.

Payments can be made by cash, direct debit or bank cheque. Any extra charges or outstanding invoices must be paid in full prior to departure at the end of your reception.

Cook at Kurnell can has a venue hire fee of $1500 for any weddings under $10,000.

Each event held at Cook includes, cost of staff. Organisers/Hosts are financially liable for any damage sustained, or loss incurred to Cook at Kurnell’s property, fixtures or fittings, through their own actions, those of their guests, sub-contractors and contractors. Credit Card details are required at the time of your booking to cover any damages that may occur.

SECURITY

The Security + Agreement Form will be supplied to you on the day of your booking to fill out and return to the manager within 7 days. Credit Card details are the only form of security accepted.

FINAL NUMBERS & MENU SELECTION

The guaranteed number of guests attending the event is required at least 21 days prior to the event for catering and staffing needs. Once final numbers are given this will be taken as confirmed. The final invoice will be issued to you 21 days prior to your event.

Catering will be provided for this number and this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last minute cancellations. All final food + beverage selections are also required at least 21 days prior to the event.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Whilst we understand, due to unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary to cancel/postpone your event, the following must apply: All cancellations or change of date made incur a loss of full deposit. No credits will be given for change of date or for the general cafe trade. Any cancellation made 60 days or less prior to your event, will incur a loss of 50% of the minimum spend. All cancellations made within 14 days of your event will incur a loss of all monies due as stated on your invoice. Cancellations must be confirmed to Cook at Kurnell in writing. Cook at Kurnell is an outdoor venue so if there should be any sudden bad weather conditions, there will be an additional fee for a marquee set up.

ADDITIONAL (SUPPLIER) MEALS

Meals for entertainers, photographers and videographers will be an additional cost at $35 pp.

KIDS MEALS

For kids requiring children’s meals + drinks, the cost is $25.00 per head. For little ones requiring no food or beverages there is no charge.

PRICES

Cook at Kurnell makes every effort to maintain prices, however they may be subject to alteration prior to your event due to food and beverage price increases. However we will guarantee that any increase will not exceed 7% of your chosen package. All prices are inclusive of GST.

MINIMUM SPEND

A minimum spend is required for all events, if you should not reach this budget the remaining amount can be used towards a bar tab or extra food. Please email Hello@cookatkurnell.com.au for packages.

ALCOHOL AND DECORUM

Cook is a fully licensed venue. No BYO beverages are permitted. It is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests. All beverages are subject to seasonal change, however notification will be given for this.

DUE CARE

Whilst our staff will take care, no responsibility will be taken for damage or loss of goods, equipment or merchandise left on the premises prior to, during or after the event. The following items are not permitted at your event: wax candles, confetti, rice, streamer poppers, flower petals, or sequin type scatters eg. stars, hearts.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE

Cook at Kurnell does hold public liability insurance HOWEVER all external suppliers will be required to have their own Public Liability Insurance. Cook at Kurnell’s public liability insurance is very specific to our venue and fit out. No harm or damage to guests caused by any external supplier equipment, styling decor, furniture or goods are covered by Cook at Kurnell.

CLEANING FEE

A cleaning fee will be charged at the discretion of management, should the Cafe premises be left in an unacceptable state.

DECOR + STYLING

All major furniture items, fixtures + fittings must remain as styled + positioned by Cook at Kurnell. Cook offers additional styling services through external vendors if you should need ideas and quotes to suit your wedding or event.

EQUIPMENT HIRE

Cook at Kurnell has established relationships with professional hire companies and recommended suppliers to look over all your equipment needs and services. Please contact us for a quote based on your requirements. All marquee hire is done externally.

EXTERNAL CONTRACTORS

All external contractors and hire must be advised to Cook at Kurnell 14 days prior to your event and are subject to approval by management. Cook at Kurnell can apply limits or time restrictions on the contractors.

ENTERTAINMENT/MUSIC

Cook at Kurnell is happy to offer some suggestions for your music entertainment. All equipment must be supplied by your hired band or DJ, as we do not have the facilities for this. Whilst we understand that you are wanting music at your event, music sound levels must be kept at a particular pitch level. Please ask that the band/DJ to contact our team, to confirm this level.

DECORATIONS

Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, blue-tacked or adhered in any way to any wall, door or other part of Cook. All decorations must be approved by management prior to the reception.

TASTINGS

Cook at Kurnell does not offer food or beverage tastings. However, the cafe menus at Cook reflect the style we bring to suit your wedding or event.

SMOKING

In accordance with the NSW Health and Hygiene laws, smoking is prohibited within Cook at Kurnell, the marquees and surrounding areas. Guests will be directed to a designated smoking area outside.

INDEMNITY

Cook at Kurnell guarantees the use of the freshest ingredients and ensures that food is prepared under hygienic conditions. However no liability is taken by Cook for any latent defect in any product used.

FOOD ALLERGIES

Please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. Whilst the chef and kitchen staff will do their utmost to ensure the said allergen is not in the meals prepared, we cannot guarantee it as our kitchen does use a wide variety of ingredients on a daily basis.

SURPRISES

Cook at Kurnell cannot be held responsible for the outcome of any surprises to be held and organised prior to, on or after your wedding/event day that has been organised by the bride, groom, party host, friend or family member known to the hosts. Cook at Kurnell will do everything it can to ensure that any special surprises or organised presents unknown to the party hosts can be carried out.

FIREWORKS

Cook at Kurnell does not allow fireworks within its venue, or around its surrounding areas. Without knowledge of Fireworks Cook at Kurnell will charge a $2,000.00 fee for breach of this. Fireworks organised without maritime + council knowledge, holds much heavier penalties.

All terms and conditions are incorporated in this document to ensure that your event runs smoothly. Please read this document carefully before signing the document below. Once you have agreed to the above, please email the completed form and email it to hello@cookatkurnell.com.au .

BOOKINGS WILL BE CONFIRMED ONCE DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED.
